Penthouse design in Afula
Using the principles of neuro-architecture, for the purpose of a harmonious design that contributes to reducing stress processes and disconnects the members of the household from the everyday hustle and bustle.
At any given moment our brain makes micro decisions, even when we are not aware of it. The main challenge in designing the apartment used by a couple and three teenage children was to create a harmonious design that shortens decision-making processes, saves unconscious stress processes and makes the tenants feel much better (even if they don’t always know why).
The house was designed using the Triple-A Design method (link to the method page), with the guideline being to create open spaces in a clean modern style and in monochromatic colors that will give peace and create an inviting and calm living environment, according to the principles of neuro-architecture.
According to this method of lighting, there is a great effect on the brain and the secretion of hormones, and as a result on the behavior and functioning. This principle is taken into account, and according to this, soft, falling curtains were fitted to the many windows in order to balance the natural light that penetrates on the one hand and soften the look of the dark frames of the windows on the other hand. In order to allow a positive experience and the right effect even in the hours of darkness, lighting fixtures with the right shade of light were also adjusted which allow for balanced lighting in order not to damage the biological clock.
The kitchen space was expanded by breaking a wall between it and the utility room, which allowed the creation of a modern style kitchen in the form of two parallel lines with a huge island that includes an eating counter and multiple storage spaces.
According to the method and theory of BIOPHILIC DESIGN – on the balcony of the large apartment, where the members of the household spend many hours, the floor is covered with wood-like porcelain tiles, a luxurious seating area made of straw-like material, a colorful pouf and plants have been inserted to create an overall outdoor atmosphere and a sense of nature that blends into the green landscape and creates a feeling of nature which It is known to reduce stress, contributes to strengthening the immune system and improves mood
